Enclosure Project

2019

The Enclosure project is the second part in the line of progression in my Integrated Design 3 class. We were to evolve our building as the semester went on, every time through different lenses. This phase of iterations was all about how the building lets light inside and how the light relates and interacts with the structure and the spaces inside. I was assigned to have my structure made from precast concrete. I chose to use columns, inverted T beams, and, double tee slabs, and hollow-core slabs. For the daylighting systems, I used Southern facing clerestories, frosted sandwich glass, and perforations in the concrete slabs.
